Premise

At the crossroads of train tracks and a river is a train station, a small dock, and a post office combined with a tiny general store. It is here that farmers and ranchers are gathering to build a young farming community on new, fertile land, and the Harvest Goddess has blessed their endeavors. It's here that your character has come by either their own choice or the Harvest Goddess's whims, and it's here that your character will build their new farm, ranch, or business, and help the small town grow prosperous.

This is a musebox style game based on the Harvest Moon franchise. There are no apps and no activity requirements, though there will be a check in every other month to free up idled characters for new players. Fandom characters from all mediums are allowed, as well as OCs.

Gameplay

Character Arrival

This game allows for characters to join willingly and for characters to be pulled in from their world to the town. OOCly there's no difference between the two, though ICly characters who are forced to come might feel a little differently about their situation than those who come by choice.
Arriving by choice:
If your character has decided to come to the town by their own free will, they will arrive either by train or by a ferry at the docks. They will be greeted by the postman/Mayor/general store owner, who offers to take them to their new farm or new store, depending on their choice. They are then free to start their new life as a farmer, rancher, or store owner!
Brought in by the Harvest Goddess:
If your character has been brought in by force, they'll wake up on the bank of the Harvest Goddess's grotto, which is several miles downstream of the town. The Harvest Goddess will appear and explain that she wants more people to farm this area, so she's brought your character in to help do so. Regardless of your character's reaction to this news, the Harvest Goddess will stay cheerful, vague, and unhelpful, and eventually she'll put your character into a deep sleep. When they wake up again, they'll be in the bed of their new home, either on their farm or near their new store, depending on the Harvest Goddess's whims. That is all the welcome they'll get into their new life.

Starting out

Farms:
If your character is starting out with a farm, they'll be given a small plot of land with a tiny farmhouse (one room that has both kitchen and bedroom, and a tiny bathroom), some field space for crops, and, if they have animals, a small barn and/or chicken coop. Your character will start out with either two crops, two animals, or a crop and an animal (either chosen by them or by the Harvest Goddess, depending on how they arrived).
Starter crops are basic crops that are in season at the time of the character's arrival. In spring, these are turnips and potatoes. In summer, onions and tomatoes. In fall, carrots and eggplant. In winter, daikon and bok choy. As your character gets more established, they'll be able to expand beyond these crops, but these are the "starters."
Starter animals are cows and chickens. It's up to your character if they want one of each or two cows or two chickens.
Characters can also pick one crop and one animal as their starter.
