But then they do let go, and at Rin's preemptive retort he huffs a laugh.]

[Was that innuendo? Maybe. But Rei lets that lie where it is as he reluctantly stands up, not letting go of Rin's hands as he rises. Rin doesn't need his help to stand, but Rei doesn't want to lose contact.]

Come on. I am starting to get hungry, and regular meals are important for our health, as athletes.

[As if Rin needs to know that. But as he waits for Rin to get to his own feet, he can't help but slip away from logic and back toward sentimentality again.]
